Creepy meets cute inside crowded little worlds filled with
characters, color, hidden messages and enough detail to keep
your eyes employed.
01
CALIFORNIA BY WAY OF LONDON
Wotto is a California-based artist who graduated with a
BA with honors in Illustration before moving to London
to surround himself with other creatives.
Immersed in a city shaped by art, design and visual
experimentation, he began developing the style that
would eventually become unmistakably his own.
02
FROM THE SKETCHBOOK OUT
Influenced by the explosion of street art and designer
toy culture, Wotto developed a distinctive doodle style
that originally lived only inside his sketchbooks.
It did not stay there for long. His characters and dense
illustrations soon found their way onto products and
surfaces across the world.
03
INTENTIONAL CHAOS
Wotto’s work combines rich color palettes with original
characters built from deliberate, carefully controlled
lines.
The illustrations may feel chaotic at first glance, but
every creature, mark and collision has a job to do.
CHAOS. BUT ORGANIZED.
04
LOOK CLOSER
Hidden messages, hand-drawn lettering and discoverable
objects are buried throughout his work.
Mountains of detail reward anyone willing to slow down,
stare a little longer and find the strange thing smiling
back from the corner.
05
CREEPY, CUTE AND SOMEHOW EMOTIONAL
Wotto aims to mix the creepy with the cute, building
worlds that feel chaotic without losing emotion or
storytelling.
The characters might look like trouble, but they usually
have something to say.
