TLDR
  • Happy Faced started in Oxnard, California.
  • We make towels that work hard and look like someone actually gave a damn.
  • The towels are quick-dry, packable, absorbent, and made for real life.
  • The art is not decoration. The art is the point.
  • Basically: useful gear, better taste, less boring towel behavior.
Quick Answer

Happy Faced is a towel company built around a simple idea: everyday gear should work better, look better, and feel like it belongs in the life you actually live.

Most towels are fine in the same way a folding chair in a waiting room is fine.

They technically do the job. They also feel like nobody involved had a strong opinion about being alive.

We started Happy Faced because we wanted the opposite.

We make art you can dry off with.

Reminder: Life is better when you're doing shit you enjoy.

A towel should do its job. It should also have a pulse.

Not boring Not bulky Not trunk funk Actually useful

Happy Faced exists for people who want gear that performs hard, looks alive, and doesn’t suck the joy out of the day.

We’re here for beach people, pool people, road-trip people, yoga people, skate people, campsite people, sweaty people, and ā€œI keep a towel in my car because life happensā€ people.

Call it a beach towel. A travel towel. A gym towel. A yoga towel. A skate towel. A quick-dry microfiber sidekick. We don’t care what you call it as long as it earns its spot in your bag.

From Oxnard, California. Designing better beach towels.

Happy Faced started in Oxnard, California in 2023 with one simple opinion: if an everyday object is going to be with you this often, it should not be boring as hell.

We love the outdoors. We love art. We love useful things that get better when you actually live with them. So we jammed those three instincts together and started making towels that feel like gear, look like art, and behave way better than the average floppy rectangle.

The product is simple. The standard is not. Make a towel that dries fast, packs down, feels good, looks like it belongs somewhere interesting, and earns its spot every time you grab it.

Looks loud. Works harder than your average microfiber towel.

The art might get the attention first. The performance is what earns the repeat invite. These are not decorative rectangles with commitment issues.

Quick-dry microfiber

Dries fast after swims, showers, sweat, and whatever happened fifteen minutes ago.

Sand-resistant

A quick shake gets rid of sand, dirt, and trail grit instead of mailing the whole beach back to your car.

Super absorbent

Built to actually dry you off, not just push water around while pretending to help.

Lightweight

Big towel energy without the ā€œwhy did I bring a blanket?ā€ problem.

The part we care about

Useful does not have to mean boring.

Art does not have to mean precious.

A towel can be practical, good-looking, easy to carry, and still have a point of view.

That’s the lane.

Regular towel vs. Happy Faced towel

Regular towel
  • Bulky and annoying to carry
  • Stays wet too long
  • Looks like a linen closet gave up
  • Somehow always smells suspicious
Happy Faced towel
  • Quick-dry and easy to pack
  • Made for actual movement
  • Artist-designed
  • Actually earns its spot in your bag

Art belongs on the towels you actually use.

We work with artists because towels should not look like a committee accidentally approved them at the end of a beige meeting.

The designs are not an afterthought here. The art is the point. The performance is the backup singer that still absolutely nails the set.

Every towel is a little collision between utility and point of view. Some feel coastal. Some feel cosmic. Some look like they belong in a surf van owned by a wizard. Good.

Recycled microfiber towels without the self-congratulatory TED Talk

A lot of our core towels start with post-consumer plastic and end as recycled microfiber built for repeat use, repeat washes, and repeat adventures.

We are not going to stand here and pretend a towel saves the planet by itself. But ā€œmake better stuff from better materials and make it worth keepingā€ is still a pretty good place to start.

Beach and travel

Beach days, day trips, road trips, pool hangs, lake jumps, carry-ons, and showers that happen somewhere other than home.

Yoga and fitness

Quick-dry microfiber for sweaty sessions, plus a dedicated Super Grip Yoga Towel line built around non-slip performance.

Skate and everyday

Towels for real-life mess, movement, dirt, sweat, and the general chaos of not sitting still.

The car towel

The one you keep around because dogs, beach days, spills, sweat, and life all happen without asking first.

Our worldview, condensed for people with sand on their phone

01. Make useful things less boring.
02. Put art on objects people actually use.
03. Build for movement, not shelf decor.
04. Keep the brand fun. Keep the product serious.
05. Take fun seriously. Don’t take yourself that seriously.
06. Grab life by the towel.
Dry off with something that actually gives a damn.

Get outside. Get weird. Go swim, skate, sweat, stretch, travel, rinse off, wipe down, and keep moving. We’ll handle the towel part.

FAQ: Happy Faced Towels

What makes Happy Faced different from a regular towel?

Happy Faced towels are built for actual use: quick-dry microfiber, strong absorbency, easy packability, artist-driven design, and everyday versatility across beach, travel, studio, and outdoor life.

Are Happy Faced towels made from recycled materials?

Many of the core microfiber towels are. Exact fabric blends vary by product, so check the product page when you want the exact build.

Do they dry faster than cotton?

That is the whole point. Happy Faced microfiber products are built to dry faster, pack smaller, and come back into rotation sooner than a bulky old-school cotton towel.

Are they good for the beach and travel?

Yes. They are built to be compact, quick-drying, and easier to shake clean, which is why they make sense for beach days, travel, camping, gym use, and everyday carry.

Can I machine wash them?

Yes. Machine wash cold with mild detergent, skip fabric softener and bleach, then tumble dry low or hang dry.

Where is Happy Faced from?

Oxnard, California.
